Comanche

My Comanche Wolf was named for the Comanche Indians. Comanche was a very spiritual Malamute. He was kind and loving to every person and animal he came into contact with. He loved being at Dog Beach, which is where we spent nearly every day of his life. He loved to chase the birds, squirrels and little lizards there. He would run like the wind as a free spirit on the shoreline. His favorite place was under the lifeguard tower. He would watch all the other dogs and the little creatures that would scurry about and get a nice shade break in the process with his littermate sister Kiowa. He was my boy, my child, my Big Teddy Bear Wolf. He would come when I called him, and always roll over on his back for a tummy rub before doing anything. When I was sad, he would comfort me, and when happy he would smile and woo woo in his wolf call to me. Comanche was taken too soon. He put up a good fight against lymphoma for 14 months, and crossed the bridge on September 29, 2006. He was 7 years old. I know he is still with me and his sister, and he watches over us. I can take comfort in that fact. There are so many things I miss about my boy. I was given such a very special gift to have had him in my life, and he is always with me in spirit.
