Karen and I went to the pet shop looking for a habitat for our hibernating tortoise. There I saw this little English Bulldog puppy and I called Karen over to see her. With Karen it was love at first sight and she wanted to take the puppy home with her. I told her that we were too busy to take care of a puppy, but when we got home I gave in. We went back and got Molly. Today I think back to all we would have missed if I would have gotten my way. Soon Molly was in my heart. As a puppy Molly was very mischievous, chewing on our dining room table leg, the den sofa, her wicker bed and my reading glasses. As Molly matured, she became Karen's little girl. She slept in our bed and went everywhere with us. Karen is a brain cancer survivor and is handicapped. Molly helped Karen through her days of depression in dealing with the deficits caused by cranial surgery. Molly lit up our home with her antics and provided us with abundant love. As Molly grew older, the affects of age began to show. She had a pinched nerve in her spine and arthritis in her hind quarters which made walking any distance difficult. For Christmas, my folks gave Molly the perfect gift, a beautiful wagon. Molly loved to ride everywhere in her Radio Flyer and those who saw her would get a kick out of this spectacle. On December 3, 2001, Molly became ill and we had to put her sleep, she was 14 1/2 years old. Molly's passing left a huge void in our hearts, but we will never forget her and all the love she gave us. Molly is now in a place where her bowl is always full, there many wonderful places to sniff, and lots of toys.
