More Teenage Visitors from Japan

In spite of heavy rain and a dismal day, more than 100 Japanese teenagers braved the weather on November 30 to visit Dog Beach. Their friends, visitors in the previous years had told them all about the friendly canines on Dog Beach, and nothing would deter them from the visit! They are planning to come back again soon...in sunny weather!

VOLUNTEERS FROM THE SANTA FE NATURAL TOBACCO COMPANY (NEW MEXICO)

To show their support and thanks to Dog Beach, thirty volunteers from the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company spent the day picking up and cleaning at Dog Beach and we are very grateful to them!

DOG BEACH HAS BECOME (even more) POPULAR IN JAPAN!

Here are three photos - a total of 150 teenage students who all visited dog beach today. They had heard about dog beach from previous student visitors (see below "International Flavor") and dog beach was on top of their list. They are all studying to be in the canine field - some veterinarians, and the remainder working with dogs. They were delightful and had a great time! Martin and Denis were there to welcome them with brochures and they promised to come back soon.

HUNTINGTON DOG BEACH PARKING LOTS HOURS EXTENDED

Due to the continued and growing popularity of Huntington Dog Beach, the dog beach parking lots have had the closing hours extended from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm each night.

DOG BEACH FIRST OUTLET!

Open six days a week in the Sea Cliff Village Shopping Center, Huntington Beach and located at Main and Yorktown, you will find a selection of Dog Beach beautiful short and long sleeve tee shirts, tank tops, sweat shirts, and our stylish caps, visors and hats. The Store is The Doggie Spa, where you can also have your dog washed and groomed while you browse!

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR

DOG BEACH ENJOYS VISITORS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD!

Dog Beach is becoming more and more popular throughout the world! This past year has seen a large increase of visitors from Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan, and here we show a group of 100 students who visited us from Japan this month and given a tour by one of our representatives. Some of these youngsters are studying to become veterinarians and some in other fields also to do with the welfare of canines, and a visit to Dog Beach was a must in their visit here. They saw many dogs small and large playing in the water and were fascinated to see them playing so nicely and sharing their toys! They have promised to come back soon!

Santa Monica/Dockweiler Dog Beach GETS THE GO AHEAD!

The Santa Monica City Council City Council adopted a resolution Tuesday, February 28th, in support of establishing an off-leash dog beach pilot program at the beach.

Council members voted to direct city staff to write a letter to the California State Senate, expressing the City Council's position favoring State Assembly Bill 359, which would bring an off-leash dog beach pilot program to Dockweiler State Beach in Playa del Rey.

The bill was approved by the State Assembly in April last year and is now pending in the State Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee.

Several people spoke during the public comment period of the City of Santa Monica Budget Community Priorities Public Hearing in support of the establishment of a dog beach in Santa Monica, and a statement favoring the beach submitted by Martin Senat President of Huntington Dog Beach was also read.
